Cameral Analysis
offers a theoretical explanation of the hypnotic
phenomenon in neuropsychological terms and an analytical method
of treating the neuroses derived from this theory.
Considering the origin of the neuroses to lie in the different
methods of the two hemispheres in processing the same information,
David Pedersen clearly outlines his treatment method. This is
designed to expose the presence of any such information-processing
discrepancies by separately analysing the verbal, non-emotional left
hemisphere in the normal conscious state, and the non-verbal,
emotional right hemisphere under hypnosis. This separate chamber
(cameral) technique then goes on to conciliate the two hemispheres
by a variety of methods.
