The following program files should self-extract:Cablofil.cuixCablofil.linCablofil.mnrCablofil.shxCablofil.dwgCablofil.mnlCablofil.pdfCablofil.vlxStep 2 -Add theCabolfilfolder to yourAutoCAD Support Files Search Path.Start AutoCAD and either typeOPTIONSat the command prompt or select theApplicationButtonin the top left corner of AutoCAD and then press theOptionsbutton in the bottom rightcorner of theApplication Menu. After executing theOptionscommand you should see a dialogbox similar to the one show below. You may need to change theFiles of Typeto eitherAllor*.CUIXat thebottom of the browse dialog. After browsing to the file and pressingOpenyou should see thefull path and file name in theFile Namebox. Press theLoadbutton and you should seeCABLOFILin the list ofLoaded Customization Groups.PressCloseto exit theCUILOADdialog box.The Cablofil menu consists of only one command, which is CABLOFIL. The menu allowsaccess to that command from a Toolbar Menu, Ribbon Menu, or the Pull-down Menu, dependingon your preferences and how you have AutoCAD configured.Page 2Cablofil AutoCAD Tools ManualA Quick Look at Using the Cablofil ACAD ToolsPick thebutton or type CABLOFIL to use the Cablofil ACAD Tools program. Thefollowing dialog box will appear. All of the program features appear in this one dialog box. The primary purpose of this programis to load aCablofil Custom Linetypeand set it as the current entity linetype. To do this simplyselect theTray Depth, then the appropriate tray in theLinetypelist, followed by theSet Linetypeand Exitbutton. You may then draw lines using standard AutoCAD commands to representCablofil trays. If you want to draw a different size tray, simply pick thebutton, make the appropriateselections, and press theSet Linetype and Exitbutton again. It’s that simple.Don’t stop reading here though, read on for more advanced featuresin the Cablofil ACAD Tools program.Page 3Cablofil AutoCAD Tools ManualAdvanced Features in the Cablofil ACAD ToolsLayer and ColorThe following section of the dialog box allows you to control the Layer and Color for drawingCablofil trays.Enter any valid AutoCAD layer name (32 characters max, all letters or numbers, no spaces): ifthe layer does not already exist, it will be created.Select the ‘square swatch’ to change the current entity color.Linetype StyleThe following section of the dialog box allows you to determine whichstyleof Cablofil linetypesyou prefer.Choose the ‘Display’ style for the most accurate on screen representation of actual Cablofil trays. The ‘Display’ style shows all longitudinal and transverse wires that make up the trays. However, some users may find that plotting these linetypes at typical architectural scales produces poorquality results. If this is true, choose the ‘Plotted’ linetype style. They contain fewerlongitudinal wires than actually exist in the trays.Linetype JustificationThe following section of the dialog box allows you to determine whichjustificationof Cablofillinetypes you prefer. This option determines whether the line you draw will be on the left side, center, or right side ofthe complex linetype. All three justifications work fine for straight lines. However, using left orright side justification with arcs or curved polylines produces unexpected results. The problem isthat AutoCAD generates all arcs in a counter clockwise direction regardless of the order in whichyou pick the start and end points. Use center justification for the best results when drawing arcs.Fix Tray LTScaleThebutton is used after the AutoCAD global LTSCALE is changed on adrawing that already has Cablofil linetypes drawn in it. You will notice that all entities drawnwith Cablofil linetypes will change when the LTSCALE is changed. This button will correct allof the Cablofil linetypes so they are the actual tray widths again.Page 4Cablofil AutoCAD Tools ManualRestore SettingsThebutton can be used to restore the current layer, linetype, color, andcurrent entity linetype scale settings to the way they were when the first CABLOFIL commandwas executed in the drawing session. Use this button before drawing non-Cablofil entities toprevent the Cablofil settings from affecting the rest of your drawing.Toggle Ltype StylesThebutton changes all existing Cablofil linetypes on the drawing to either‘Display Style’ or ‘Plotted Style’ (see Linetype Styles onPage 4for explanation of these styles). For example, after drawing all Cablofil trays using ‘Display’ linetypes, this button might be usedto change all linetypes to ‘Plotted’ style prior to plotting the drawing.Generate BOMThebutton will calculate all Cablofil tray lengths and display the totals in adialog box like the one shown below. The length will be shown in the same units as the current drawing units. Entities drawn withCablofil linetypes will be included in the total as long as they are not ‘blocked’ or ‘xrefed’ in thedrawing.--- end of manual ---Page 5
